Service Description

Online or In-person This series focuses of reconnecting to the body through mindfulness mediation practices that include somatic awareness in a trauma sensitive container that allows for nervous system regulation. This series teaches that meditation is not about perfect stillness and silence but instead invites the student to reconnect to their body through subtle listening and gentle micro movements that allow for a reconnection to the body. Somatic meditation is a gentle, body-based practice that supports healing by working with the nervous system rather than the thinking mind. Instead of focusing on controlling the breath or quieting thoughts, this practice invites awareness into physical sensations, helping the body feel safe enough to soften, release, and regulate. For those living with stress, anxiety, trauma, or chronic overwhelm, the nervous system can remain stuck in survival states such as fight, flight, freeze, or shutdown. Somatic meditation helps restore balance by slowly guiding the body back into a state of presence, safety, and connection—at a pace the nervous system can trust. Through subtle movement, guided awareness, and choice-based invitations, somatic meditation supports the release of stored tension and unresolved stress held in the body. It builds interoceptive awareness—the ability to sense and respond to internal cues—helping individuals reconnect with their bodies without force or re-traumatization. This practice is especially supportive for trauma recovery because it honours autonomy, consent, and pacing. There is no pressure to “relax,” visualize, or bypass difficult emotions. Instead, participants are guided to notice what is present and to develop a compassionate relationship with their internal experience. Over time, somatic meditation can improve nervous system regulation, reduce anxiety and hyper-vigilance, support emotional resilience, enhance sleep, and foster a deeper sense of embodiment and self-trust. It creates a foundation for healing that feels grounded, sustainable, and safe. Somatic meditation is an invitation to come home to and befriending the body—slowly, gently, and in your own time.
